Almost everyone is “going green”. Now, it is Coca Cola’s turn. Harc Lee, a New York designer, created totally colorless eco-friendly Coca Cola can. The goal is reducing the cost of both initial manufacturing and recycling. “A convex logo substitutes colorfully sprayed can. Naked can help to reduce air and water pollution occurred in its coloring process. It also reduces energy and effort to separate toxic color paint from aluminum in recycling process.
Huge amount of energy and paint required to manufacture colored cans will be saved. Instead of toxic paint, manufacturers process aluminum with a pressing machine that indicates brand identity on surface” Lee says.
This brilliant idea is totally modern, very clean and %100 recyclable. I definitely love the new look! What do you guys think about it?

Innovative and smart. It's a good thing big companies like Coca Cola are starting to do these kinds of things. Little by little we see that they do care...
ReplyDeleteI like it a lot!--I think it looks very cool! I hope more companies follow their lead.
ReplyDeleteHi Hande, thanks for sharing this fantastic initiative by Coca Cola which will set as a big example for other MNC's to follow. I loved the concept and idea of going green this way. Super Impressive. Cheers !
ReplyDeleteLean, Sandra and Pragnay, thanks for the comments. I agree with you guys, hope we will see that kind of "green" projects more often.
ReplyDeleteInitially, a good thing, but when other companies begin to copy it, there will be switch back to color logos/cans. Henry Ford said you can have any color as long as it it black. His attitude which was probably more environmentally friendly than his competitors was lost because people wanted color cars. Color is for identification as well as personal preference.

One more good ad from Coca Cola!
ReplyDeleteI don't think that the made its can absolutely colorness, I think they used some kind of toner, so it isn't eco friendly
Thank you for the interesting data, Hande
Coca Cola will have to integrate the colour red, in my opinion. The colour is critical in terms of their brand recognition. They need elements of the colour 'red' to continue being recognized similarly by consumers.
ReplyDeleteIt may be eco-friendly; but it sure is not very distinctive looking.
